Geographical features

Croatia is situated close to densely populated and industrially developed European countries. Many internationally important transport routes cross Croatia. The importance of the geographical position of the Republic of Croatia is also enhanced by the Adriatic Sea, the northernmost gulf of the Mediterranean which is the closest to the central part of the European continent.

Croatia has a great geographical position and controls most land routes from Western Europe to Aegean Sea and Turkish Straits.

Croatian land border countries are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia. Also, Croatia has a sea border with Italy. The fact that makes Croatia more interesting to foreign investors is that between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro there is no language barriers so it is possible to cover market of those 4 countries.

The area of Croatia can be divided into three major natural and geographic parts: Pannonian and Peri-Pannonian area, hilly and monutainous area which separates Pannonian Croatia from coastal part - Adriatic area. Also, there are three different types of climate: continental, mountain climate and Mediterranean climate.

The city of Koprivnica is located in panonian area, the most developed region in Croatia, with continental climate, hot summer and cold winter. Koprivnica has an excellent geographical location, it is placed on B5 Pan-European transport corridor, and has great rail and road connections with the rest of the state and Europe. It is located 80 kilometers in the north of capital of Croatia. it is situated near Hungarian and Slovenian borders and it is one of the most important node on a railway Budapest - Zagreb - Rijeka.
